I'm happy to announce my painting got selected by @artrenewalcenter as a finalist for the salons of 2024!

I remember when, much younger, I used to look up to the paintings displayed in the salons on the website. As a result this feels really special to me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the next step, but I'm really happy to have made it so far. 🤞🎉

I'm also taking the occasion to announce that as part of the selection this painting will be sent TO THE MOON ! *hype* Included in the Lunar codex project, which, I'm quoting:
"The Lunar Codex is a set of time capsules launched on three NASA-related missions, including the work of 7,000 creatives. It will be the first significant placement of contemporary arts on the Moon in 50 years."

Thank you to the @artrenewalcenter to make such an unique opportunity happens.

Plein air at the beach. It's actually the first time I painted the sea, something I wanted to do since a long time. It was super nice, definitely easier to paint more "loosely" and creatively than other landscapes. I hope I will have future occasions to explore that subject more, it's just a bit hard in Switzerland 😅 and also without a car.
Pro-tip Castiglioncello has a beach right in front of the train station, which is quite convenient for plein air painters!

Making of of my still life with fruits, 60 x 40 cm, 2024... definitely this still life I felt a lot more in control of the subject and was able to let go a bit of the academic way of doing things. As such it was a great joy to paint. I am really grateful this last year to have been able to do commissions that left me enough freedom to compose and learn (still lives are a great exercise). I might do a bit more commissions these next months but I want to focus more on exhibition works this upcoming year. I also want to evolve my style a bit. So stay tuned!

It was one full month of work between may and june 2024. I really enjoyed painting the fabric (owned by the client, and actually a vintage made in Florence! What a coincidence 😅)

A small collection of the sunsets I did during the Hudson River Fellowship ❣️These are like small jewels I bring home, records of very special moments. I am very happy in the end I managed to do a few I really like. These may all be slightly different in style because I liked to try out things out during the residency.
I also included the bear sunset because it was part of the whole experience haha
All of these are 15.5 x 20.5 cm (I refuse to speak american with the inches, don't try me)
