I’m an artist born in Switzerland, specialized in oil painting. My paintings draw inspiration from different cultures, present and past. I am also interested in mixing traditional and digital techniques. I work on commission and for exhibitions, with the aspiration of connecting with an audience interested not only in craft and beauty, but also in art with a critical view on the world. I love using oil painting and digital techniques for the wide potential and creativity they offer.

My Style

Since childhood, I grew a passion for classical oil painting and loved going to museums and learning about art history. As a young adult, I also became interested in the conceptual aspect of making art and conducted a lot of theoretical research as part of my art process. After obtaining a diploma from the Hochschule der Künste (Bern), I traveled to Italy to study the craft of oil painting, drawing inspiration from the techniques of the old masters. There, I focused extensively on mastering the fundamentals of representational art, including classical genres such as life drawing, portraiture, still life, and landscape/plein air painting.

Currently, my art process combines both conceptual research and a passion for the craft. My ultimate goal is to reinterpret classical oil painting in a contemporary context, also by integrating digital techniques in the artistic process.

What I do
I work on commission for a large number of genre and subjects...

I work with both live models and/or photographs for portrait painting. Both natural and artificial light can be used. It’s important to consider that working with some elements of shadows is easier than working in full light, which aligns with my style. I’m also capable of creating a portrait of your pet.

My favorite genre is to work with a combination of references and imagination. My background in illustration and concept art provides me with the technical knowledge required. The possibilities are limitless, and this includes the incorporation of fantasy elements.

While I primarily work en plein air, I’m also adept at working from photographs and imagination. Painting outdoors is incredibly rewarding, but it can be somewhat limiting in terms of the final touches and format. Therefore, a combination of plein air work and studio work is possible.

I work with perishables and objects, using the sight size technique. My inspiration often stems from classical compositions against dark backgrounds, although any approach is possible. The time required for selecting and arranging the right objects and composition needs to be considered when estimating the time of the realization.
